Riding lesson

David and Nicholas came to watch Megan and me have a riding lesson on this lovely November day.

Megan's regular mount is Tommy Tucker.

And this is Chico, my favorite horse in the world. He is only mine for an hour a week, but I love him!

Sweeping the roof

Why is it that a mundane task like sweeping, is so much more fun when you're 10 feet in the air?

Brendan and Krisden's Engagement Party

Congratulations Brendan and Krisden! We celebrated their engagement
Saturday, November 7 with a beautiful party planned by my sister, Ann Marie.

Luckily, she had plenty of free labor to get things set up:

And ultimately, everything turned out beautifully.

I think everyone had a good time!

Riley, no pink??

At first glance, it appears that Riley is in a really cute outfit that is actually NOT pink. But, upon closer inspection, it turns out she does have at least *a little* pink, even on this dress!

She does look really cute, though, doesn't she?

Halloween!

Halloween was a whirlwind day of birthday festivities, pumpkin carving, party preparation, and then finally the Thunder Halloween party, which included trick or treating, unfortunately in the rain.

The Murray family operated independently this year. David was Alton Brown cooking chicken wings (Chicken Wing is his nickname on the team-- the girls came up with it, don't ask!). I stayed with last year's Harry Potter theme and dressed as Bellatrix Lestrange. Megan (after much reconsideration and waffling) went as a little girl zombie. Nicholas was a bat.

The party was a big success with delicious food, lovely decorations, and many creative costumes. Even (most of) the parents participated and came dressed up. We had a lot of fun planning and executing the party and we plan to make it an annual event.
