SEAA State Championship

The Thunder played in the SEAA State Championship this past weekend. Despite a good effort, they came up a little short, finishing second to a very good White Lightning team that we just can't seem to beat.

Megan learned to slide recently, but I came up short in my efforts to get a photo of her demonstrating her new skill. She was up easy on this play.

This game was played Saturday night, which of course, was Independence Day. The two teams played through fireworks (both those put on by the city as well as MANY unsanctioned fireworks in the surrounding neighborhoods) for pretty much the whole game. It was an impressive display of focus, especially since we had to face a bases loaded, nobody out situation to win the game. As you can imagine, the fans for both teams rivaled the fireworks at that point. But our pitcher played brilliantly and our defense didn't let her down, and we hung on to win 4-2.

What a good-looking team, don't you think?
