Happy birthday, Riley!

My niece, Riley's birthday dinner, Friday night, at Macaroni Grill:

Opening her present from Megan and Nicholas (playsilks):

Riley's party, Saturday afternoon:
What a cute outfit, Grandma made it!

Nicholas was happy to help open her gifts...

....and to push her around at breakneck speed in her new car!

And finally, the obligatory first birthday cake-eating scene:
Doesn't she look happy? (Not!)

Isn't it pretty?

Ooo, the icing is good!

I think I'll try some more.

I think I'll eat the whole thing!!!

Hey, what do you think you're doing?

I think I'll just finish this up. Yum yum, good!!

Busy weekend

It started Friday morning, which was Nicholas's birthday. He just wanted to open one present...

Then, at school we had his Walk Around the Sun.

After that, we hosted Megan's sleepover birthday party. (Why are we having Megan's party on Nicholas's birthday? It was the only unoccupied 18 hour period not on a school night within a month of her birthday.)

The next day brought, you guessed it, softball.

And Nicholas's party at Pump It Up.

By Sunday, we were beat, but we didn't want to miss the Grand Prix at River Glen.

We will sleep well tonight.

Out of town relatives

The worst part about having out of town relatives is that you don't get to see them very often.

The best part is getting packages in the mail!!!

Thanks Daphne, Brad, Rowan and Ava!!!

Samantha thanks you too.

Happy Birthday Megan!

Yesterday was Megan's birthday. We started the celebration on Sunday at a Lady Vols softball game.

Here's Megan's favorite player, Lillian Hammond. Megan went to a softball camp this summer where Lillian was one of the counselors. Lillian, who is a slap hitter like Megan, chose Megan for an Outstanding Camper award.
Brendan and Krisden came too. And that's David up in the corner. He's watching the game:). Doesn't Nicholas look like he's having a good time?

After the game, we went to dinner at Megan's traditional favorite, Macaroni Grill. Tia, Drew and Riley joined us there. Isn't Riley cute? After, there were some shenanigans in the parking lot:

The next morning, Megan opened her presents. She was most excited about this present-- pierced earrings! She is getting her ears pierced as soon as softball season is over. Nicholas gave her a dolphin Webkinz. Isn't sibling love grand?

Here's my beautiful ten year old!
