First tournament of the season

Megan's new team, the Thunder, played in their first tournament of the spring season this past weekend. Although there were only 3 teams, the Thunder proved much the best going undefeated 4-2 and 6-2 in pool play, and winning the championship by defeating the Explosion twice with scores of 11-0 and 9-0.

Megan looked tough in her all black uniform,
but she did allow a bow in her ponytail as a nod to Grandma. It "came out" some time during the day, but she let me put it back in for the championship. I think we will have to keep up that tradition for luck, as on the first pitch of the championship game, Megan slapped for a hit, and then when the throw got away from the first baseman, put her head down and came around to score!! What a way to start the game!

Here is Megan with David getting ready to warm up for the Championship.
And here is a closeup to see that the bow is, in fact, in place.

Isn't this a great look?

Here's Nicholas playing with another little brother. Isn't it funny how he knows to bring his light saber? How did he know that someone else would have one too? It's uncanny.

They might as well put this one in the books. Everytime Megan got on base, she scored (including several times in which she pinch ran for our catcher or pitcher.)

She didn't get much action in centerfield due to our great pitchers. We won't complain about that!

Coach Rick presents Megan with her trophy. And here is the whole team (don't they look happy?)

Go Thunder!
